Bill's Geology Shop

Jeep of Doom

January 29, 2001 - The new jeep (above) was finally picked up from the dealer today. During test drive, got it dirty on some dirt roads trying out the 4-wheel drive. It was cleaned up when I paid for it, so I had to go and get it dirty again on the way back to my house. This is the stuff you can see on it in the picture. Took the dirt/back roads back from Lemitar/Escondida Lake. I thought it would have gotten a bit more dirty on that path, but so be it. I shall have to go back out again and work at it or something. So as the old snow melts off (our roof is leaking) and more snow is on the way, plans for getting it more dirty are being formed. So far my Cherokee seems to be handling well on mud and snow and deep puddles. I'm still VERY happy with my deal.

Date not remembered - The above picture is of Mike E. after we got back from Walmart one day. The picture below is of the other side of the Jeep. The muddy side. Mud is fun. Wet clay is not. I had to get pulled out by Campus Police, as it was back in town. Up by the observatory. Wicked spot from what I have since been told by other people that have been to that location. At least the CP was cool about it :)

sorry about the light wash out, but it was the best angle i could get with the blazing new mexico sun!
